WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A top Republican said on Friday that Democratic U.S. President-elect Barack Obama is "off to a good start" and indicated he was pleased to see President George W. Bush get ready to leave.
A sentiment shared by billions.
Schnoo, billions?
I don't know about billions, but I'm one of em that's glad to see him go; lol
billions
Talking around the world. Survey says.......
Sue, me too.
Yep them and most the world...lol. They know that with him gone they may actually be able to get elected again...!! Not surprising at all.
I'm glad to see a republican that has shown a willingness to work to get things done rather than resisting just because he's a democrat President...If this keeps up we are going to be sitting pretty in about a year or so....the republicans that shine through and showed they were ready to work on "Country First" will be overwhelmingly supported by democrats later and will be part of history. And just just BE HISTORY.
Difficult for either side to change decades of practice.
too true schnoo, that's why I didn't pick a particular party as a youngster, I wanted to go to all of em; lol I know, I know, that's not what kind of party you are talking about;lol
counting the days until President Bush drops the "P" and is just resident Bush.
It's going to be a long two months given the current power vacuum.
Schnoo, once the honeymoon is over, it will be longer than 2 months.
in actuality.. Bush gets to take the "P" with him after he leaves office.
while some news casters will refer to people as the "former", proper edicate suggests, he always keeps his title of "mr. president".
people made a stink about it when a newscaster once refered to president clinton as president clinton during the bush admin.
i know I am taking your comment a bit literally, still interesting trivia.
I also think you can argue bush has never been P.
Personally I am happy cheney is losing the VP
GGM, as far as I am concerned Barrack is already my president.
GW is just in the f'n way!
The least you could do is learn how to spell his name.
I know he'll, by protocol standards, always be called "Mr. P" or "the former P"......but technically he is a private citizen......a resident......just with perks.
GW is and always will be in everyone's effing way.
Is it me or has time kinda lulled to a screeching crawl since 11/4 and this transition is just taking forever.........I mean I think in 2000 we didnt want it to end because we knew what was coming in the door......and now we want it to move fast because we want GW to leave......like NOW
Nope, not just you.....I am wishin away time.
And, Juris, I misspelled wishin on purpose!!!
hey, my honeymoon only lasted a day. lol; And I don't want a honeymoon in this administration, I want elbow grease and and a honest to goodness systematic clean out of the old system. I want results in other worlds, not flowers and candy.
Oddly, it seems to me that Bush looks happy to be leaving also. The last few times I have seen him on TV, he actually looks to be relieved. ME TOO!!
lol i think since probably 2004-2005 bush has had one of those keychains that keeps track of how many days he has left.
and he will end up being the most useless non president.
you think liek we did for te tsunami sending clinton and the former bush there.. would work if we sent the current bush anywhere? people would hate us.
nah i think bush's goals right now is to pend the rest of his life doing fart jokes with rove.
"Our members, in one way, are kind of relieved by the departure of an administration that became unpopular and made it very difficult for us to compete," - Mitch McConnell
Tee-hee. Yes, Mr. McConnell. It is difficult to compete if your platform is based upon an archaic ideology. Welcome to the 21st century.
Problem- We only have one President at a time... Bush is today... Can the Automobile Manufacturing Corporations last until January 20th?
Can the Oil Companies kill our freedom to be free of Oil BEFORE January 20th? That IS the Oil Plan.... suck us up ...kill our one and only try at Buying Back Our Nation... ok, Who made money throughout the so-called crisis? Yeah Big Oil? Who got us into Iraq? Yeah, Shell Oil Co. (They now have control after a 36 Year ban)
Where does the control of the Financial Credit Markets reside? Yeah, Big Oil Controls every bank we bailed out, every investment company, They Are Calling All The Shots...
The hope that giving us the cheap gas at the pumps again will stop all this talk of getting free from our addiction... will it?
Hats off Mitch! The man with the plan only seemed to have had bad ones. In the process made a laughing stock of the GOP. The my way or the highway isn`t a good plan.
want to see how bush did it?
or how he managed to be elected, not only the first time...but the second time also?
click this on google: "murder, spies, and voting lies"
or you can try this one, via youtube.com:
As do we all...
the wait is agonizing.
Heck... I'm not a Republican... certainly not a top Republican... BUT I am certainly pleased to see Bush leave.
Indeed and then......everything is repeated again just in another shoes.
You mean the Vine has not shut down or the world as we know it ceased to be with a Repub/GOP praising Obama? Heck most people pleased to see George return to the ranch but.......... Obama, ok? My Lord, it just might snow in Hawaii by daybreak.................
That GOP fellow just earned himself a nation full of enemies and haters. He might need the same level of SS protection as Obama does now.
